Abstract:
The “Metaverse” has come into the spotlight in recent years and is heralded as a future trend in education. With the application of disruptive technologies, the Metaverse opens up a wealth of new educational opportunities. These include how the Metaverse provides students with an immersive learning experience without physical boundaries. The Metaverse could be widely adopted in multiple disciplines and on different levels. In this workshop, five speakers from different disciplines across four institutions are invited to share their insights, practical experience, opportunities and challenges concerning the application of Metaverse in Education. Their sharing will cover good practices and projects at both institutional and individual levels.
This workshop arises from an IICAs (Inter-institutional Collaborative Activities) Project under the VTL Grant led by CUHK – “Establishing Effective Virtual Teaching Strategies to Support Learning beyond Classroom”. It is also one of the online sessions of the CUHK Teaching and Learning Innovation Expo 2022 (the Expo 2022).
