Abstract:
Since the coronavirus pandemic, educators have made unprecedented efforts to continue teaching and learning in cyberspace. However, students’ social interactions have been hampered due to the absence of physical school life. Tertiary institutions in Hong Kong have proactively designed and delivered creative virtual activities to help students grow personally, socially, and academically and prepare them for successful college and career transitions.
In this webinar, we have invited five experts from CityU, CUHK, HKBU and HKUST to share their good practices of technology-enhanced extra-curricular learning initiatives in areas of peer learning, academic advising, and service learning. These activities have been beneficial to keeping students engaged and motivated while enduring the pandemic strain.
This webinar arises from an IICAs (Inter-institutional Collaborative Activities) Project under the VTL Grant led by CUHK – “Establishing Effective Virtual Teaching Strategies to Support Learning beyond Classroom”, in which one initiative about exploration and enhancement of new extra-curricular learning is led by CityU.
